How it works

New hires interact with the HR Manager in a dedicated Slack channel. IT-related questions are automatically routed to the IT Setup Bot, which provides step-by-step guides for getting set up. Culture questions go to the Culture Guide, which shares handbook highlights and team info from Notion.

Quick Start

Set up your employee onboarding team on Slack.

Step 1 — Create the Team

Go to Bot Teams → New Team. Name it "HR Onboarding Squad".

Step 2 — Set Up the HR Manager

Create the manager bot:

  • Platform: Slack
  • System prompt: Use the provided system prompt
  • MCP servers: Add mcp-slack and mcp-notion

Step 3 — Set Up the IT Setup Bot

Create the first specialist:

  • Platform: Slack
  • System prompt: "You are the IT Setup Bot. Help new employees with technical onboarding: laptop setup, software access, VPN configuration, account provisioning, and password resets. Track setup status and provide clear step-by-step instructions."
  • MCP servers: Add mcp-slack, mcp-notion, and mcp-supabase
  • Add your Supabase key for provisioning tracking

Step 4 — Set Up the Culture Guide

Create the second specialist:

  • Platform: Slack
  • System prompt: "You are the Culture Guide. Help new employees learn about company culture, team traditions, office norms, perks, and values. Share handbook highlights, introduce team rituals, and answer culture-related questions warmly."
  • MCP servers: Add mcp-slack and mcp-notion

Step 5 — Configure Routing Rules

  1. IT route (Priority 1): Keyword match — laptop, access, account, password, vpn, wifi, software, setup, install, permission, 2fa → IT Setup Bot
  2. Culture route (Priority 2): Keyword match — culture, team, handbook, values, office, perks, tradition, social, event, benefits → Culture Guide
  3. Fallback (Priority 99): Always → HR Manager

Step 6 — Activate

Set all bots to Active. Create a dedicated #onboarding Slack channel for new hires.
